The market

With an installed capacity of 7.369 MW by 2018 and 600 MW under construction, along with the YEKA tenders to add up 1 GW wind capacity each year, the growing Turkish wind power market appeals to the Danish companies interested in becoming a supplier to the Turkish wind market.

YEKA 1 tender FACTS:

The first YEKA tender for 1-GW wind power plants with local manufacturing and research and development (R&D) requirements, is the largest-ever wind power auction in Turkey's history, took place in August 2017.

A Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy-led consortium, which includes Turkerler and Kalyon Enerji holdings, has won a $1-billion wind energy tender.

The consortium must build a wind turbine factory in Turkey with the capacity of at least 150 units of 2.3 MW per year up to 21 months after the contract was signed.

YEKA 2 for 1000 MW capacity is just announced and first offshore YEKA is on the way.
