The market
Germany is home to the largest wind turbine fleet in Europe. Around 61 GW / 28,500 turbines are currently installed in the country and offer enormous potential for service, maintenance and repair solutions.
It is also amongst the oldest fleets in Europe. Almost 14,000 WTGs have exceeded the age of 15 years, and around 8,200 of these turbines are already more than 20 years old. Many assets will fall out of the feed in tariffs, leaving room for lifetime extension, asset optimization, retrofitting and ultimately dismantling.
The huge O&M and service potential meets a fragmented market of owners, operators, operation management companies and service companies (ISPs and OEMs). The ambitious onshore expansion targets will, moreover, allow Germany to maintain its lead as the largest service market in Europe.
